Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In a recent development, West Bengal Governor Dr. CV Anand Bose has initiated the SPEED program to expedite the functioning of state universities. The program aims to simplify and enhance the decision-making process for effective governance within these institutions.
To address various aspects of university management, including faculty recruitment, the Governor has also established 25 teacher selection committees. Furthermore, a Vice-Chancellor Committee has been formed to identify and rectify any backlogs in university administration, with a focus on streamlining the higher education system in the state.
For efficient real-time monitoring, a dedicated cell has been set up at Raj Bhawan, where the Governor will be available around the clock. Additionally, a dedicated landline number, 03322001642, has been provided for inquiries and complaints related to students or university management.
This initiative by the Governor aims to foster transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the state's higher education institutions.
*Note: SPEED stands for Simplified Process for Effective Decision-Making.*
